Mr. Sheffield was one of the top estate planning, tax, and trusts and estates attorneys on the Central Coast. His practice focused on advising individuals and families regarding tax, estate planning, probate, trust and business succession matters, and advising corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies regarding business and tax matters.
Mr. Sheffield was a Certified Tax Specialist. He was awarded a Martindale-Hubbell rating of AV Preeminent, signifying the highest level of ethical standards and legal ability, for 28 consecutive years. He was also recognized as a Southern California Super Lawyer.
Mr. Sheffield was a past Chairman of the Taxation and Probate Sections of the Santa Barbara County Bar Association, and was a member of the State Bar Associations of California and Georgia Additionally, Mr. Sheffield served as Director of the Santa Barbara Symphony, Santa Barbara University Club, Direct Relief International, Vietnam Veterans Association, The Friendship Center, and the Montecito Trails Foundation
Mr. Sheffield received his Bachelor’s Degree from Duke University in 1962, where he was an Angier B. Duke Scholar. After a tour of active duty as a Naval Officer in the Pacific and South China Sea, Mr. Sheffield returned to Duke Law School where he received his J.D. in 1967. Mr. Sheffield, was a founding partner of Rogers, Sheffield & Campbell, LLP.
